Poet Tekkan Yosano, who has ties to Yosano Town, composed this tanka poem in May 1930 when he visited the Oeyama Mountains, a major sight of the town. With strong winds blowing through Kayadani Valley all day, the Oeyama Mountains keep hiding and appearing between the clouds. As the poem mentions, this makes the mountains look like galloping giant horses in the sky.
Whether you look up at the Oeyama Mountains or look at them from the Kayadani Plains as seen in the video, the surrounding Oeyama Mountains are the pride of Yosano. The sunset clouds in autumn are also beautiful.
